3. Floating post office

India has the largest number of post offices due to which it is the largest postal network in the world. There are over 1, 55,015 post offices in India. But did you know that there is a floating post office in Dal Lake, Srinagar? It was inaugurated in August 2011.

5. Highest cricket ground in the world

The world’s highest cricket ground is located in India. It is situated at an altitude of 2,444 meters, in Chail, Himachal Pradesh. This place is known as the Chail Cricket Ground. It is a part of the Chail Military School. It was built in 1893.

6. Anti-Gravity Hills In Ladakh

In Ladakh, there is a Mysterious Anti-Gravity Hill know as Magnetic Hill. This is the only magnetic hill in India with the anti-gravitational effect. There is a Landmarked by the roadside that spells out instructions and asks you to place your car on neutral gear right on the spot marked by white paint. Then your car will begin to move uphill on its own.

7. Shampooing concept is invented by India

Yes, you read it right. Shampooing is basically an Indian concept. It is interesting to know that shampoo was invented in India. But we are not talking about the commercial liquid ones. 10. India discovered Water on the moon

Indian launched ISRO Chandrayaan- 1 on October 22, 2008. In September 2009, using its Moon Mineralogy Mapper, Chandrayaan- 1 detected water on the moon for the first time.

11. India’s first President took 50% of his salary

Dr. Rajendra Prasad was appointed as the first President of India. He was the only president that took 50% of his salary. He also claimed that he did not require more than that. More interestingly, towards the end of his 12-year tenure he only took 25% of his salary. Did you know that the salary of the President at that time was just Rs 10,000 per month?

12. India transported its first rocket on a cycle

ISRO was formed in 1962. At the time they had very limited resources, a small pool of scientists, and a shortage of funding. Since the rocket was so small and light in weight thus India transported its first rocket on a bicycle to the Thumba Launching Station in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
