Windows Sleep Mode

Sleep mode saves energy by putting your computer system into a low-power state by turning off your display when you’re not using it. Windows Hibernate Power Option

The Hibernate mode is very similar to sleep mode, but instead of saving your open documents or running applications to RAM, it saves them in the hard disk of your’s laptop.

This allows your laptop to turn off entirely. It means it uses zero power now. Once you power on the computer back again, it will resume everything where you left off.

It just takes a bit longer to resume than sleep mode does since ultimately you have to start the computer again using the power switch button. The whole process will be repeated again but this time directly from the hard disk.

The name of this feature explains everything. The basic feature of any windows version is its Shut Down Option. It basically shuts off the system completely, clearing any cache stored in the RAM. Therefore, Shut Down option sometimes is the best option to go with when your system starts working abnormally and you do not want to go with Hibernate.
